List of Supplies:

Pelon , 70W or 71W

Coats & Clark All Purpose Thread

Beading Needles, size 12 long

Pelon is the white material used to sew the beads onto. This will be the core structure of the earrings.

Beading Needles, size 12 long

Coats & Clark All Purpose Thread

Beading Needles, size 12 long

Your needle will be the key tool used for creating the design and laying the beads flat. Making sure you have the correct size for your project is essential!

Coats & Clark All Purpose Thread

All purpose thread is strong, non waxy thread that is very affordable, and will glide through your beads easily. Matching the color of the thread with your project is a fun secret way to make your colors more bold.

Size 11 Seed Beads

Coats & Clark All Purpose Thread

I use size 11 tube shaped beads, such as Delicas. I also use size 11 seed beads, which are more sphere shaped.

Scissors

Jump Rings

You're going to need Scissors multiple times over the course of making your project.

Jump Rings

Size 11 Seed Beads

Jump Rings

Jump rings are tiny metal rings that you will sew onto the top of your earring, for the earring hook to attach.

Earring Hooks

Backing Material

Backing Material

My favorite moment is when I put the hook onto the earring, and it's finished! Then I just admire my hard work.

You're going to need some material to go over the stitching on the back of your earring. I like to use faux leather, and try to match the color with my project.

Good Energy

Good Energy

When you decide to make anything artistic, it is a reflection of the way you're feeling while you're doing the project. It is very important that you go into beading with a patient mindset. This will guarantee a beautiful outcome.

List of Optional Supplies

Cabachons, or Centers

Cabachons, or Centers

Cabachons, or Centers

A cabachon, or at home we call them "centers", will be the jewel at the center of your beads. This will serve as a template to guide your beads into the shape of the cabachon, as you bring the beads around. Check out the front counter for pictures of my past work to see if you can spot the ones without a cabachon! Those projects were done free-handed, meaning just beads and pelon. I also have many projects that include the cabachon.

Glue

Cabachons, or Centers

Cabachons, or Centers

If you plan on using a center, you're going to need some strong glue to hold it down. I use E6000 , or Gorilla Hot glue, depending on how much time I have. E6000 will take about a day to dry, where as Hot Glue will dry instantly.

Rhinestone

Cabachons, or Centers

Rhinestone

Rhinestone is a fun way to add extra sparkle to your earrings! They come in many colors and textures, some made with metal chains and some made with plastic. The variety of colors provides more opportunities for unique self expression.

Please enjoy this Mindpioneer Tutorial Booklet! A step by step walkthrough with images that will teach you how I make flat stitch earrings.
